Only newbies to the dance scene, but talented and skilled enough for their tracks to be played and praised to by some of trance biggest producers. Let alone the numerous times their ‘Mustang’, ‘Arena’ or any other cracker has been played in A State of Trance. Dutchies Willem van Hanegem and Wardt van der Harst, dubbed up in W&W, have shaken and stirred the trance scene with a trembling sound. A mixture of rough techno, floorfilling trance and breathtaking other influences have made them stand out. Only shortly part of the scene, but already earning a desired spot on the ASOT 400 line-up in Germany. An extra special happening for these two, as it’s going to be their first gig together as W&W. Time to check their pulses.
You guys have only just been added as a surprise addition to the line-up. How exciting is that?!
Willem: ” It was a really big surprise for us cause we never expected it to happen . I was sitting in a full train at the moment I heard it and couldn’t stop smiling, people looked at me like I was crazy. Then I called Wardt who was on vacation to tell him the good news.”
Wardt: “Yeah I can remember I was drunk as hell that night.”
What can we expect from you both in Club Butan?
W&W: “You can expect a banging set with a mixture of techno and trance and a lot of new
and exclusive material. This is our first DJ gig together so it will be really exciting.”
Have you guys been regular listeners of the show as well?
Wardt: “I always check the playlists and download the set on Friday afternoon.”
Willem: “I’m a regular listener of the show for years now, if I miss it live I’ll be sure to check the episode afterwards.”
What is ‘a state of trance’ to you both?
W&W: “Trance is the thing that we’re busy with every day, and so far it hasn’t bored us for one single hour. It’s the thing we like to do the most, making tunes and imagine how they would sound on a dance floor.”
Any other news we should know about? (new releases, special gigs etc.)
W&W: “At the moment we’re busy with new tracks in a different style, so u can expect some
new and fresh stuff soon. We also did a collab with our friend Ummet Ozcan, which will
be out soon on Spinnin’ Records. Gigwise some very exciting things coming up, for example
our Polish debut at Sunrise Festival 2009. We’ll also play at the Dutch Riverdance Festival,
for which we made the anthem.”

W&W: “Armin, congratulations on reaching the 400th Episode of ASOT, keep up the good stuff
