Armada Music, Point Blank Music School, DJ Mag and Google+ have officially kicked off the ‘Academy of Electronic Music’. It is the world’s first socially-driven online music school, giving aspiring music producers and DJs the chance to share their best tracks, get feedback from peers, industry experts and their favorite DJs and producers, plus the chance to be mentored as the world’s next superstar producer. The ultimate prize is to get your track signed to Armada Music – awarded best global dance label for the fifth year running.
This will be driven through an all-inclusive global community but in addition, seven talented students will be selected for professional music production training provided by world-renowned music school Point Blank via their flagship Electronic Music Composition course. As education partner to the Academy, Point Blank has 20 years’ experience teaching producers how to take their music to the next level through personal one-to-one interaction with the UK’s leading producers.
Electronic music fans from around the world can tune into the Academy, follow their favorite producers, and access professional music training via Google+ Hangouts along with the seven winners as they prepare for the biggest release of their lives.
Key dates:
Sept 3rd – Academy official launch Admissions phase opens and producers submit their best productions via the website. All styles within the electronic dance music genre are welcome. The top 50 is determined by votes to enter the next selection phase.
October 19th – The Top 7 In a livestream from one of the biggest events during the Amsterdam Dance Event, the Amsterdam Music Festival, the seven selected talents will be announced to join the Academy’s class of 2013, and have their tracks released.
October 21st – The start of The Academy The Academy of Electronic Music will teach the seven talents everything there is to know about EDM. Exclusive lessons will be conducted via Google+ Hangouts by Point Blank’s expert tutors and producers, industry guests and surprise EDM artists. Everyone will be able to interact and benefit from the insights in these sessions as the Hangouts will be broadcast live and recordings will be available immediately afterwards.
