Still growing in his repertoire, but always keeping things A-quality, is Mike Shiver. The Swedish producer looks back on a series of successful releases, such as Susana collab ‘Give Me Faith’ and the magnificent ‘The Apocalypse’. Mike dedicated his sound to prog-trance, this time with fellow-Swedish producer and songwriter Matias Lehtola. Together, they made it through Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance 2011 selection, with their third collab, ‘Slacker’.
Balancing things out till the very last beat, ‘Slacker’ shows that the boys fit each other’s sound seamlessly. A flawless mix of trance and progressive, taking its listeners in with chopped up vocals and a catchy, uplifting maze of synth. A real feel-good track, buzzing around the club scene as we speak.
More buzz comes from two supreme remixes, by two young EDM talents. Having earned his stripes, we find Swedish producer Bjorn Akesson mixing ‘Slacker’ to a rough-edged trancer, kicking in with nothing but energy. Israeli producer Maor Levi took Big Room to another level, by giving ‘Slacker’ a growling, firm bass, stubby chords and a distorted but melodic break.
